700 members, hosts regular national juried art exhibits. New members are

A 115-acre environmental park on Lemon Bay. Offering passive
recreational opportunities and nature programs.
A non-profit Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center (CHEC) facility,
Cedar Point Environmental Park is an 88-acre site offering visitors more
than four miles of trails through coastal and scrub ecosystems.
The park is situated on Lemon Bay, a critical water habitat for native
species. The park offers a program building with numerous
exhibits, a non-motorized boat launch and picnic areas for your
enjoyment. A number of organized tours are held each week,
including Saturday morning guided walks at 10 a.m. View eagles
nests, other native species including tortoises and owls. CHEC is
operated through the cooperation of Charlotte County, the City of Punta
Gorda, The School Board of Charlotte County and the Peace River Audubon
Society, Inc. |
